(06/02/1998) --- STS-91 Mission Specialist Janet Lynn Kavandi gives a smile and a thumbs-up as two technicians help her with her flight suit in the Operations and Checkout (O&C) Building. The final fitting takes place prior to the crew walkout and transport to Launch Pad 39A. She is on her first Shuttle flight. Kavandi was selected as an astronaut candidate in 1994.
